How do I play?

Look around for pesky little flies by moving your device around. Once you find a fly, center it within your target zone and quickly jerk your device forward to splat it. Hang onto your phone tight to make sure you don’t hit anyone while playing. There is the potential for excessive excitement with every splat, so be VERY careful. If you have a pacemaker, you might avoid this game and pick up a more sedate hobby than bug splatting.

Splat two flies with one swat and you'll get bonus time. Twice the fun, and extra time too. Please contain your excitement. But be careful - swat innocent cutesy bugs and you'll lose time. Get all your bugs splatted before time runs out or you’re toast. Have fun – and be safe!

Can I pause the game?

Sure, just double tap the screen and a Pause menu will appear. From there, you can easily resume the game, read instructions, turn on/off sound, or go to the main menu and start over again.

How do I add my name to the leaderboard?

Tap on Edit Name in the Scores area to edit or add your name. Play the game with an Internet connection (GPRS or Wireless). After your game ends, go back to Scores and you'll find your highest score and your global rank among the Splat! community.

But wait – how come my name isn’t in the list?

You actually have to be in the Top Six globally for your name to show up under Scores. This honor is reserved for the exceptionally remarkable super-duper Splatters among us. Yes, that means that you have to be in the top six of ALL the players playing the game for your name to show up for all to marvel, review, and admire. Don’t worry, we’re not in the top six either.

The game crashed. What do I do?

Sometimes Apple devices have memory leaks. Actually, it happens quite often. But there’s a simple fix. Power down your device, restart it, and relaunch the game. You should be good to go. If you keep having recurrent crashes please let us know.

How do I change my audio options?

In the Main Menu, tap on the round Info button between Instructions and Play. Then tap on the Sound tab. There, you can turn on/off the music and sound effects.

How do I unlock new weapons?

The more you play, the more cool weapons you'll get to swat those little flies! You start off with a newspaper to swat' em clean. You unlock the rest of the cool weapons by earning the required points in a single game. Earn the points, and collect all the weapons for max swatting fun.

How did you research this game?

Don’t worry, no flies were harmed in the making of this game. We used safe R&D methods to bring you this perfect simulation of bug swatting. Enjoy, and please let us know what you think.

Look, you’re playing this game at your own risk. Splat! is fun – a lot of fun. And we’re not responsible for what you might do in your excited state as you splat away. It’s totally your call. If you have a low tolerance for cute little bugs, don’t play. If you don’t like a blood-pumping adrenaline rush, don’t play. If you have a weak grip and can’t hold on to your iPhone or iPod Touch, don’t play. Finally, if you are just a plain boring person who hasn’t had any fun for years, don’t play – this might be too much for you to handle. Everyone else should have a bug-splatting good time.
